
The highway network in the Kootenay Rockies connects to well... everywhere! If you are coming from Alberta you have a couple options to our area. Both options take you through the famous and majestic Canadian Rocky Mountains either via Hwy 3/Crowsnest Pass or via Banff & Kootenay National Park along Hwy 1 and Hwy 95. The first option will take you through communities such as Fernie , Cranbrook and Creston, BC. The second option takes you to Kimberley through Radium and Fairmont.
Coming from the west, such as Vancouver or BC Okanagan, you can take HWY 3, the scenic route, or the Trans- Canada Hwy 1. Hwy 3 will take you through communities such as Castlegar, Nelson, BC, while Hwy 1 will take you through Revelstoke and Golden BC.
Visitors can just as easily fly here... The Kootenay Rockies is serviced by the Canadian Rockies International Airport (YXC), only a 20 minute drive from downtown Kimberley. Local ground transportation can be arranged. The airport has daily flights from from Calgary International Airport (YYC) and Vancouver International Airport (YVR), via Air Canada Jazz and Pacific Coastal Airlines.
